Ketia4Kidz PROGRAMS
Ketia4Kidz Foundation has developed programs that can have immediate impact and success in our community. We have worked to provide educational and activity programming for our youth, and will continue to grow the programs at a measurable pace. Below is a list of current programs and events that the foundation runs and supports. As we grow in partnerships, donors and alliances, we will unveil larger programs and initiatives. Annual Ketia4Kidz Basketball Classic
Adrian & Corena Swanier Scholarship
Hosted annually at Ft. Hood, TX, during the month of April, Ketia Swanier created this classic to instill social skills in the lives of our youth. The classic is founded upon leadership, teamwork, perseverance and sportsmanship - which are all characteristics of Ketia Swanier. With celebrity guest appearances and family activities, this has become a "can't miss" event for the foundation. Proceeds raised during the classic benefit the programs and services that Ketia4Kidz Foundation provides to our youth.
Established in 2010, our scholarship recognizes the contributions and provides educational assistance for our Military Children. The program awards five $1000 scholarships for use towards a 4 year degree, vocational, or technical certificate. Only dependent unmarried children under 21 (23 if enrolled as a full-time student) of active duty personnel, and retired military members, or survivors of deceased members, may apply for a scholarship. Ketia's Korner
Speaking Engagements
One of the anchor programs for the Ketia4Kidz Foundation, Ketia has pledged to adopt one to two schools per year under the program. The program will differ based on the needs of the individual school, some schools will need more educational programming, others may need support for physical activities. The foundation's goal is to raise funds to create, sustain and grow programs for students. We will work to provide stronger technological support, such as providing SMARTboards to the classrooms, but also allowing the students to have after-school programs that enrich their lives. At select WNBA games, Ketia Swanier will host area military installation students at a WNBA city near you. The students will meet with Ketia and observe a WNBA shoot-around, attend the game, receive special Ketia4Kidz and Ketia Swanier gifts, and have a post-game chat with Ketia and some of her teammates. Scheduled cities are Phoenix, San Antonio and Seattle, but the program will grow throughout the 2010 WNBA season. Announcements will be made starting in April 2010.
Ketia Swanier is available to visit your school, community center, hospital, nursing home or gala to speak on behalf of the foundation and/or provide "pep talks" for your audience. As a proven champion and advocate for change, Ms. Swanier hopes to reach as many communities as possible, so that she can spread her message of inspiration, believing in your dreams, and dedication to your craft.
